ABSTRACT

There is not a day that goes by without a reminder that I spent my life betraying those I lived, worked, played, and ate with. If there is such a thing as a Judas complex, I am sure I invented it. If there is a specific thing that I can count on to remind me of my days as a rat, it is my ability to turn on and off the feelings I have for others. I don’t know where it came from or how old I was when it started. I do know, however, that without that on-off switch, I would have committed suicide many years ago.
