ABSTRACT
The first steps toward my eureka moment began when I was given my first multiplant responsibilities in 1982. The first few years, absent any real mentor, I struggled to figure out my role in overseeing several plants without trying to micromanage each one of them. I’m sure there are some plant managers out there who will vouch for this annoyance. But in the fall of 1986, that began to change.
