The steep rise in water demand and water utilization which has recently begun is in the process of generating global problems. Water is a key element in the improvement of agricultural output. It has to be applied in suitable quantities, at the right time, and through well-managed irrigation works. Comprehensive and well-integrated water management is of crucial importance to the future water supplies of mankind and to the water conservation which must be steadfastly conducted on a global scale. Water impinges on human life in innumerable ways. As a society develops, the interaction between the human community and natural water supply becomes more and more complex. The conference will consider the ways in which water policies and institutions can best be adapted to physical, economic, social, political, and cultural conditions and examine the kinds of technology best suited to individual countries.
