ABSTRACT
Administrative agency use of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) refers to the use of methods other than traditional adjudication, rule-making, litigation, or informal administrative action to resolve conflicts that arise in public administration. This article begins by describing traditional processes for addressing conflict in public administration. Next, this article overviews the most common dispute resolution methods and their potential benefits.
