ABSTRACT

"Diffusion is the process by which an innovation is communicated through certain channels over time among the members of a social system," according to Everett M. Rogers, one of the pioneers in diffusion research.[1] Rogers defined the diffusion process as a form of social change, based on communication, ideas, and information.[1] Diffusion research has been undertaken in a number of social sciences and professional disciplines, such as sociology, geography, communications, economics, organizational studies, business, and education. Policy diffusion involves the spread of policy ideas across political jurisdictions and may occur within a single country or across national borders.
