ABSTRACT

Program evaluation and review technique (PERT) and the critical path method (CPM) are used to plan, coordinate, and control the performance of activities that comprise complex projects. Designed as a tool for executing projects that are unique and non-repetitive, PERT methods typically include the preparation of a network diagram. Constructing a PERT diagram requires a manager to identify the interdependent phases of a project and the correct sequences of activities that lead to completion.
