ABSTRACT
Nanophthalmos is a form of microphthalmos in which the eye is small, but of normal shape. The aetiology is believed to be due to arrested globe development after closure of the embryonic fissure. It is a rare, potentially blinding and usually bilateral condition which occurs with equal frequency in both sexes.
