ABSTRACT
The incidence of infective endophthalmitis after routine cataract surgery is reported to be between 0.33% and 0.02%. The incidence of infective endophthalmitis is probably falling. In a retrospective series of 19269 patients nine developed postoperative endophthalmitis.
