This chapter explores the steps involved in Phases Three and Four of the crime prevention project: evaluating and modifying the project. This chapter begins by describing the principles of a project evaluation generally and then outlines the basic steps necessary for a rigorous, fruitful, and accurate assessment of a crime prevention project. Conducting a project evaluation need not be intimidating; it can be a straightforward process that produces meaningful results, if a few general rules and principles are followed.
