ABSTRACT

Geberth made no reference to when we should stop looking, when we should stop investigating. I opine that he did not because we should never stop looking. We should never cease in our efforts to solve unsolved homicides. We owe it to the victims, to their families, and indeed, to our civilization, that we never cease in our efforts to bring accountability to those who have murdered another human being. In the past 2 decades, many cold cases once thought unsolvable have been solved because dedicated investigators pored through old files and boxes of papers and evidence, followed up on a tip, or reprocessed old evidence and made startling new discoveries.
