ABSTRACT

Concluding a speech effectively is as important as starting it. Since the purpose of a deliberative speech is to persuade the audience about something, the orator needs to make an appeal for action and fix it in the audience’s active memory by using certain strategies. In the concluding part of the speech, the orator focuses upon summarizing the central issues of the speech and proposing a plan or suggesting some kind of action. Therefore, this chapter discusses the essential aspects that a speaker needs to keep in mind in the conclusion of his/her speech.
