ABSTRACT
This chapter outlines the basic rules of using appropriate words and sentence structures in public speaking. It acquaints the reader with various criteria of using appropriate language, such as purpose, audience, place, time, suggestibility and ease of comprehension. This chapter also highlights the emotive and persuasive effects of different types of words and sentence structure in public speaking.
