ABSTRACT

There are many intricacies to the process of hooking data to intervention, but by using our tool, teachers don’t have to be an expert at diagnosing reading difficulties. The Columns will help them know where to begin. Some interventions require little training; others need extensive, on-going training. There are interventions that are researched and have a positive impact on student growth. Opposite of intervention are the enrichment materials in the district. It is important to consider the resources for all levels of performance. An individual can always use The Columns to support the enrichment and intervention cycle in their own classroom. However, many teachers find it helpful to utilize The Columns in a team setting. The Columns are a simple format to follow. Administrators do not have to be experts in the reading process to assist teachers in using The Columns as a data analysis tool.
