ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the use of neurofeedback as part of an integrative approach to the treatment of patients with “medical” complaints. This includes the assessment of such biomedical components as diet, the brain–gut connection, environmental exposures, exercise, sleep, medications, medical genomics, and behavioral management. Neurofeedback improves the functionality, both physical and psychologically, for “medical” issues. Recent case studies from the practice of a solo physician are presented. In all cases, neurofeedback is the primary therapeutic modality, even as other treatments are integrated into patient care.
