ABSTRACT

Place dependence in organizations can said to be achieved when it provides advantages and resources they can be used to advance the individual’s development. Understanding the positive aspects of employee attachment, providing a secure base, fostering place attachment, and accepting the influence that multiple realms have in the organization is a good start. In some respects it is similar to a “place attachment”. At the heart of place attachment is the sense of place itself. The unified framework presented is an attempt to address attachment in all its forms. The issue involving the emergence of a potential or transitional space of sorts in association with place attachments has some intriguing possibilities that should be explored. The behaviors that lead to the formation of attachments to a group were consolidated and intensified, and because of our history, there is a natural and inherent human instinct to form attachments.
