Going Lean with HR
When Rudrey realized that the method of handling Human Resources in its current state would not adequately support the company’s future manufacturing strategies, it also realized it needed a department that was responsible for developing employees into lean thinkers. This did not mean that the company needed a new department. It meant that Rudrey needed a Human Resources department that provides the necessary training and resources to help put knowledge possessed by production floor employees into productive and efficient practice. However, Rudrey, like many companies on their lean journeys, did not have a successful infrastructure in place to utilize this knowledge on the floor.
