ABSTRACT

Websites differ from social media in that they are 100 percent under the control of the organization rather than the impact of the various social media platforms. Whereas websites can help readers navigate around the site, a blog pretty much lays it all out in a single view, with time-stamped articles presented in chronological fashion. A blog might have pages dedicated to specific topics, such as an About section, audio or video posts, a photo gallery and editorial policy. Blogs allow an individual or an organization to serve as a type of online news venue. An advantage that websites have over blogs is that they can provide much more information and can allow readers to drill down through various layers of information. Blogs are written for different purposes and are directed toward different audiences. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to writing blogs.
