ABSTRACT

According to a number of indices in social development, Armenia holds one of the lowest places among the Union republics. A historic mission and a grave responsibility has fallen on the present generation, on all of us, to rise up, to muster the vital powers of our people, and to lead them onto a new path of revival. People have gathered in this hall who are concerned with the fate of our people, and with the spiritual and economic advancement of Armenia and its future. They are concerned with the further deepening of the democratization of public life and with the future of the country’s restructuring. The preparedness of the most diverse strata of society to take a real part in the movement already in August 1988 the Committee of the Karabakh movement of Armenia considered it necessary to give the pan-national movement an organizational form, and proceeded to create the Armenian Pan-National Movement.
