Economic and Entrepreneurial Aspects of Credit. Most small enterprises are financed by the income and profits of owners and the savings of their families, or by borrowing from those who serve as suppliers and dealers. The chapter reviews the implications of credit, extension, and training on SE development. There are examples of PVO SE projects which show unusual sensitivity to the need for simultaneous accounting for a wide range of beneficiary, political, and voluntary sector institutions. Subsequently the role PVOs can play in the promotion and development of small enterprise will be considered more specifically.
