ABSTRACT

This chapter assesses the social effects of implementing each of the plans from the point of view of the individual and his or her family. The beneficial and adverse social effects of a given plan implementation will also affect the community or communities located within the planning area in a variety of ways. The chapter is concerned with the functioning of individuals in formal and informal groups and with many community-related considerations, the measures of social effects are focused on the institutional aspects of community life. It explores the future effects on the structure of the population, the demands for education, housing, various social services, and informal group structures, and the community. One social impact area of the social well-being account is concerned with the larger social good of the nation rather than the local area of the plan implementation.
