ABSTRACT
Good morning. It is a pleasure to welcome all of you to this conference on the emerging pacific community concept. This conference marks the high point in the Center's research of the Pacific Community Concept, begun three years ago, and we are privileged now to have an opportunity to consolidate those research findings with the help of the delegates from 16 nations gathered in this conference room. We are particularly grateful for the presence of those who have traveled from distant points to share their valuable opinions with us.
