ABSTRACT
This chapter essentially deals with the roles of politics, bureaucracy and local government in the process of governance and development in independent Bangladesh. It includes the analysis of the development of political process, bureaucracy, local government and the interplay of politics and bureaucracy in Bangladesh since after independence to present regime (1972–2017), according to the regime and time frame of their governments.
