ABSTRACT

This chapter will examine the buckling problem of an FG-GOR nanocomposite single-layered shell whenever the system is subjected to thermal loading. The shell is assumed to be embedded on an elastic medium and its geometry and the configuration system required to formulate the buckling problem can be observed in Figure 3.1, presented in previous chapter. The governing equations of motion are presented in Chapter 2, Eqs. (2.77)–(2.81). This study includes the effects of various temperature distributions on the stability responses of the nanocomposite cylinder. In other words, different temperature profiles, including uniform, linear, and sinusoidal, are included to determine which one affects the stability responses of the cylinder more than the others.
