ABSTRACT
The forty-nine letters of Spinoza hitherto known to us 1 have now been supplemented by a fiftieth, recently purchased by the Library of the University of Amsterdam. However, only twelve of these forty-nine letters have been preserved as originals, so that the new acquisition constitutes the thirteenth currently known letter in Spinoza’s own hand.
