ABSTRACT
Gender and race-based theories are the focus of Chapter 9. Gender-based theories are grounded in feminist theory. The chapter reviews traditional feminist theories and application to offending among racial/ethnic minority females. Race-based theories that reject the notion that general theories explain offending among all groups are also reviewed in this chapter.
