This chapter looks at the various forms and stages of an edit. More specifically we explore edit theory, edit preparation, beginning an edit, the story cut, editing narration, editing B roll, various types of cuts, the fine cut and edit apps, before discussing rules of editing and associated workflows. Award-winning feature, documentary and TV editor Steven Robinson ASE, who has also worked as a video journalist/producer, provides tips and a Break-out Box.
