ABSTRACT

For talent management practitioners, an Impact Map provides the foundation for a simple but very effective tool to evaluate the success of any development initiative. Calculating simple average demographics by talent cell also provides another perspective on talent. The performance potential matrix can also be sliced and diced by the talent mix that is currently in mission-critical roles. For learners, the Impact Map from the Frame It stage of Intentional Development sets the context for their development. Learners can easily describe times when they used new behaviors and can link specific outcomes to their application. The Impact Map is something that should be shared in advance with the learners attending the program so their time and effort is framed in a business context. The best person to review the Impact Map with the learner is not the trainer but the learner’s manager.
