Several puppet-assisted play therapy (PAPT) interventions are effective in addressing specific issues that arise in the playroom. These include medical puppet play, abuse disclosure, and custody evaluation. Medical PAPT is a method that can assist numerous children who find themselves being treated by medical professionals. Puppets help solidify the information of forthcoming procedures in a fun, effective way by providing safe therapeutic distance. Researchers have suggested that therapeutic play for hospitalized children can be a useful approach to reducing psychological distress related to the experience of illness and hospitalization. Medical puppet play is perfect for this therapeutic play. It is a very courageous effort to disclose. It must be easier to tell a turtle than a person. Puppets are the best way to get a disclosure. It is essential that the stage of change is recognized for the disclosure to occur. Victims usually appear in our office at the contemplation stage.
