ABSTRACT
Within five years of the first steps taken by the Senior Stakeholders (Owner, Vice Presidents, Managers, and Coaches) in the Honolulu Surfers’ organization to develop a sound, long-term strategy, and the agreement to participate in that first Strategy Planning Offsite, the ultimate victory was achieved. The Honolulu Surfers professional baseball franchise was crowned WORLD CHAMPIONS – IN PARADISE! The road was not an easy one. The focus on long-term planning took a leap of faith, engagement by all levels of the organization, consistent management across the board, and hard work by the players and coaches. The waves of success begot more success.
