ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the self-weight retaining height of unsaturated soil is considered as the first example of stability analysis with respect to unsaturated soil. As the apparent cohesion plays the most important role in analyzing the shear properties in the current soil mechanics, although the apparent cohesion is never related to the proposed model. The apparent cohesion due to surface tension derived from the proposed model and a useful equation to carry out the slope stability analysis with the rainfall, although Equation is never used in the proposed model. The Boussinesq’s solution is applied to estimate the inter-particle stress vector due to external force in the ground, which means that the soil block is assumed to be an elastic body to estimate the inter-particle stress vector for the stability analysis.
