ABSTRACT
It has always seemed exploitive to me that pain and suffering can be ameliorated, for a fee. By progressively increasing the consumer’s cost of health care, as we are seeing for example in the new concept of concierge physician practices for those who can afford it, this exploitation has been raised to a new level. Undoubtedly a single-payer, government-controlled system would result in dramatic cost savings and make health care universally available.
