ABSTRACT

Strategy calls for a direction. Innovation is a prioritised area for most organisations today. Still, many organisations lack an innovation strategy, and as such, it is difficult to build and sustain the capacity to innovate. Understanding what an innovation strategy is and how to craft one effectively are key tasks in the capacity building process. Understanding and acting upon a strategic mix of mergers and acquisitions (M&As), partnerships, and internal development is the complexity challenge in building capacity for innovation in turbulent times.
