ABSTRACT
The chapter on ‘Punjab and Its People’ contextualises the occupational change of the tribes. The discussion on the history of society and culture broadly provides the background within which the tribal people had been functionally operational. The nature and types of social communities and relations between them have been discussed, especially with respect to the Scheduled Castes with whom the tribal people are clubbed.
