ABSTRACT

Given the analysis of the previous chapters, Chapter 7 not only summarizes the arguments put forward in Privatizing Peace but discusses additional counterarguments to it. Chapter 7 also argues that competition can be a beneficial element in supporting space development not just through spin offs derived from research and development but in allowing for greater levels of cooperation among space actors. Finally, the chapter suggest several policy recommendations, including developing and implementing domestic policies that further space commercialization and bringing private space actors into international space negotiations given their increasing power and capabilities.
