ByAndrew Youde

This chapter provides an in-depth critique of the Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT) and its underpinning model, the Four-Branch Model of Emotional Intelligence, regarding its value in identifying effective higher education online and blended learning tutors. Empirical evidence is presented regarding use of the MSCEIT in educational contexts with a discussion of the Test's strengths and limitations when identifying effective e-tutors.
