Using Knowles's andragogy model as an analytical lens, this chapter considers effective teaching and learning for adult learners within higher education online and blended learning contexts. It discusses learner self-direction, intrinsic and extrinsic motivations for study, experiential learning and introduces e-tutor actions to help motivate adult learners studying in the digital age.
