ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a description and definition of what we mean by progress in resilience. It also presents how we measure progress in resilience in the classroom and what specifically researchers have to say about it. Following an outline of how resilience is specifically taught, a number of strategies are presented to help promote resilience in lessons. The chapter continues with implications for leaders and key questions that teachers, school leaders, governors and parents should ask in respect of progress in resilience. The chapter concludes with a personal vignette in relation to resilience progression.
