ABSTRACT
This chapter looks in more detail at what the research and writers say about progress. Covering over 140 articles and books related to progress, it offers an overview of the key themes. These include summarising what researchers say about progress in relation to teaching, the learning process, lessons and learning. The chapter also covers what the researchers say about progress in relation to the curriculum, assessment, Progress 8 and staff accountability. The chapter concludes with a summary of the key points raised.
