ABSTRACT
Test preparation is highly important to ensure a successful experiment. The requirements for apparatus and reagent are prerequisites for successful testing. This chapter summarizes the test apparatuses and reagents for geotechnical testing in soils and rocks. Cone Penetrometer – consists of display screen, release and locking device, sample cup, steel cone with a dial gauge and switch. Constant head permeability device – an apparatus consisting of sealing metal cylinder, metal porous disc, gauze, piezometric tube and water supply bottle. Consolidation container – a device consisting of cutting ring, retaining ring, porous stone, water tank, pressurized upper cover and lantern ring. Strain control triaxial apparatus – a device consisting of pressure chamber, axial pressurization equipment, ambient pressure system, back pressure system, measuring system of pore water pressure, axial deformation and measuring system of volume change.
