ABSTRACT
This chapter emerges from one of the author’s PhD findings: that teachers and school leaders professionally learn in a wide variety of contexts, at sometimes surprising times, and in sometimes unexpected places. This chapter questions assumptions that professional learning only happens in work time, or in designated learning places. Professional learning, it argues, happens in scenarios that are professional and personal, formal and informal, in and out of educational contexts, and singular and collaborative.
