ABSTRACT

In this concluding chapter of Sexual Citizenship and Queer Post-Feminism, the central aims of the inquiry are revisited and summarised, with particular focus on describing the new model of queer post-feminist sexual citizenship. It is argued that queer young women and non-binary people have disidentificatory engagements with identity politics, sex, health, and citizenship that are not neatly explained by existing theoretical models. Therefore, devising queer post-feminist sexual citizenship renders visible the ways in which queer women and non-binary people’s experiences are mediated through intersecting experiences of both privilege and marginalisation. Following a review of the key themes and contributions of the book, pathways for future research and applications of the queer post-feminist sexual citizenship model are considered.
