ABSTRACT
The team members attending governance included the entire leadership team, about 15 people, plus the executives. There had been debate about whether to include the entire leadership or just the top tier, ultimately decided by Gary and Sara who wanted to include the whole team, which proved acceptable to Sai and Heather. Prior to the first meeting of governance Mary had guided Sara, Gary, Pam, and Herb in establishing the forum. They worked together to write a one-page visual proposal for how they suggested governance work and then met individually first with Sai and then with Heather to refine it. Governance had had several meetings so far and was starting to find a bit of familiarity. Sai and Heather were clearly the top decision-makers in the group. A concise agenda with clear expectations of desired outcomes is particularly important for governance meetings.
