ABSTRACT

The Unidentified flying object (UFO) age began in June 1947 when Kenneth Arnold sighted “unidentified flying objects” from his private plane. The first account of an actual human encounter with extraterrestrials was in March 1950 when Samuel Eaton Thompson reported that he met voyagers from Venus. In November 1952, George Adamski, an occultist and amateur astronomer, claimed that he met a Venusian named Orthon in the California desert. The Ashtar Command is an extraterrestrial armada, headed by the celestial commander, Ashtar. The Aetherius Society was founded by George King in London on August 2, 1955. In May 1954, he made contact with the Master Aetherius of Venus who called him to be “the Voice of the Interplanetary Parliament.” A student of yoga, metaphysics, and healing, King gave trance lectures at Caxton Hall in London. The aims of the Society were dictated by Master Goo-Ling of the Great White Brotherhood.
