ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book provides a critical review of pertinent literature. It presents characterization of the phase change material and thermal conductivity enhancer (TCE). The book details of the experimental setup and instrumentation required to conduct experiments. It also provides the results of the performance studies and thermal optimization of 72 pin fin heat sinks. The book focuses on multi-objective optimization. It discusses results of experimental investigations and the geometric optimization of matrix type heat sinks using a hybrid ANN-GA approach. The book also presents a comparison of the thermal performance of the same TCE volume fraction of the no fin, matrix type fin and pin fin heat sinks. It explains results of the synergisitic numerical approach of heat sinks with thermosyphon as potential TCEs.
