ABSTRACT

In case of developing or under developed countries in space technology, the other political and sociological issues decide the momentum of advancement of high-end technology like space. The space activities that were sole domain of the sovereign states gradually found inroads being made by the private actors. The whole scenario brings the countries developed with space technology to think about the regulation of space activities for their domestic purposes. The Outer Space Treaty, the mother treaty in international space law, has been ratified by most of the countries. The next space market would be commercial space transportation services (COTS) from India itself. In the cases, commercial space launching and COTS, safety is the prime focus. The other business opportunity would be to allow the openings of foreign branches of space companies on Indian soil besides the companies in launching and COTS.
