ABSTRACT

Recent research has shown that feedback might be less scary to receive and more likely to be used when the recipient is in the driver’s seat. Being on the receiving end of feedback can make people feel powerless and defensive. This chapter helps to provide readers with a set of tools for owning and making the most of their feedback by proactively asking for it, seeing themselves as 50% of the feedback exchange, and recognizing that they always have a choice about what to do with the feedback that they receive.
