ABSTRACT

This chapter delineates guidelines for formulating a program evaluation plan for a sport psychology program. Using a formulated plan for evaluating a sport psychology program allows you to obtain evaluative information about various aspects of your program, including the attainment of program goals, reactions to the program, and program strong points and limitations. In turn, this evaluative information will enable you to make decisions regarding the continued development, improvement, and sustainability of the program. Accordingly, this chapter provides a rationale for having a sport psychology program evaluation plan. The chapter next sets forth the criteria for a sport psychology program evaluation plan. Finally, it describes the elements of a program evaluation plan and supplies a program evaluation planning worksheet and an example of a program evaluation plan.
