ABSTRACT

The purpose of this chapter is to provide guidelines for evaluating the strong points and limitations of a sport psychology program once it has been completed, following the review of other program evaluation information. This form of program evaluation—evaluating the program’s strong points and limitations—aims to generate evaluative information that can lead to the continued development and improvement of the program. First, the chapter offers a rationale to explain why this kind of program evaluation is important for developing, improving, and sustaining sport psychology programs. Second, it delineates a process that helps you identify and specify elements of the program design that you can evaluate as its current strong points and limitations. Third, it describes and documents a framework for conceptualizing and determining the program’s strong points and limitations in relation to those specific program design elements.
