ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the role of understanding other minds in the cultural mind. Understanding other minds is important for the production of culture from social processes. Mental state understanding as a multilevel mechanism contributes to the generation and sharing of mental and physical states of cultural processes. The mental content of the cultural mind arises as emergent property of biological organisms. The generalization of cultural phenomena as emergent property contributes to the regularities and robust cultural patterns of social thought. The understanding of other minds demonstrates real-world advantages in the natural world. The simulation and construction of cultural mental content of computation contribute to the physical implementation of social thought across possible worlds.
