ABSTRACT

The chapter deals with the derivative weaves that are based on the elementary weaves with changes in their characteristics (overlaps and displacement number). Rib and hopsack weaves are presented as derivatives of the plain weave. The twill weave derivatives, namely, strengthened twill, complex twill, zig-zag twill, diamond twill, and shadowed twill, are discussed. The chapter ends with the derivatives of the satin and sateen weaves: strengthened satin, strengthened sateen, and shadowed sateen weaves.
